The second generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been making quite a buzz for last couple of months and the much awaited MPV has been leaked online ahead of its launch in Indonesia. As it appears, the car looks bigger and muscular compared to the current Ertiga. It comes 99 mm longer and 40 mm wider compared to the present model. Also, the MPV has received a wide range of significant design changes across the exterior.
The new and larger V shaped front grille with chrome garnishing, redesigned headlamps with projector lamp and integrated LED daytime running lights, new muscular bumper with black accent across the fog lamp housing enhance the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga’s visual appeal. Apart from that, it also boasts sharp character lines, 15-inch stylish looking alloy wheels, turn indicator integrated ORVMs, blackened glass area with a floating roof design, L shaped large wraparound LED taillights, sleek chrome bar on sculpted tailgate etc.
Inside the cabin, new generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga comes sporting a wide range of updates and new features as well. It gets a new multifunction steering wheel with faux wood trim, dual-pod instrument cluster with analog and digital display, a large floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The redesigned dashboard with dual-tone appearance adds zing to the cabin. Expect it to offer more space and comfort to the occupants, while the safety features too will be impressive. It gets dual SRS airbags and ABS as standard and the car is built on Suzuki Heartect architecture.
Power source for the new generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will include a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that is capable of kicking out around 104 bhp of peak power. Also, this engine is expected to deliver around 18.06 kmpl of fuel efficiency. For transmission duty, the car will rely on a 5-speed manual gearbox, while there will be a 4-speed automatic unit as well. Expect it to launch in India sometime during festive season this year.
