Earlier, we informed you that Maruti Suzuki is aggressively testing the next-generation Ertiga MPV and the car has been spotted doing some test rounds in Indonesia. The next-generation Maruti Suzuki is expected to make its launch in August, where the brand can also debut the new version at the upcoming Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), that will commence on April 19 to April 29.
Going by the spyshot that reveal much more about new Ertiga than the previous images. Even though the car was wrapped around with camouflage, the taillamps on the model seems similar to that seen on the Ciaz, but can be distinguished with extension towards the tail. Codenamed as YHA, the new Ertiga facelift is likely to be built on Maruti’s new HEARTECT platform and it will be longer and slightly wider than the current model along with a longer rear overhang, which would make it more spacious for the third row. With Maruti Suzuki seems to make it more practical for the Indian consumer and competitive in the segment.

Mechanically, the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will most likely come packed with the same set of engine as seen on the existing model – 1.4-litre petrol engine that makes 92 bhp of maximum power and a 1.3-litre diesel engine which is good to crank out 89 bhp of power. Maruti Suzuki is working on a new 1.5-litre diesel engine that could be introduced in the model at later stages.
The Ertiga facelift will compete with the likes of the Renault Lodgy, Toyota Innova Crysta that also streamed in the Indian passenger market and the upcoming Mahindra U321.
