The all-new 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift was spied previously in December 2017 and yet again it has been spotted, this time completely undisguised. The car is expected to make its official debut at the 2018 Auto Expo, followed by the launch in the mid-2018.
The new spy images provide a closer look at the 2018 Swift, revealing a lot about the upcoming car. The front fascia of the car gets a frameless black grille with the ‘S’ logo equipped in the centre. It gets projector headlights with DRLs, sculpted bonnet and round fog lamps placed in a plastic housing.
On the sides, the new Swift gets ORVMs with turn indicators and sporty five-spoke diamond cut alloy wheels. The rear profile of the car gets redesigned LED tail lights and high-mounted stop lamp. The tailgate also features the ‘S’ logo at the centre with a Swift badging at the left side.
The interior of the car is expected to retain the all-black theme and the dashboard design is most likely to get tweaked. The dashboard is set to feature a twin-pod instrument console and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink compatibility.
The Indian-spec 2018 Swift is most likely to be offered with the same engine mechanism driving the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, comprising of a 1.2-litre petrol a 1.3-litre diesel motor. The gasoline engine is good enough to develop a maximum power output of 84 bhp, while the diesel unit generates a maximum power output of 75 bhp. Both engines are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox for transmitting the power to the wheels. However, an automatic transmission option is also most likely to be offered this time.
The pre-bookings of the new generation Swift are being accepted unofficially at some dealerships across the country. It is most likely to be priced between Rs. 4.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs. 7.46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
