Maruti Suzuki WagonR has been one of the most popular cars in Indian market for quite long time and now the brand is ready to roll out a refreshed version of the tallboy hatchback. The 2018 Maruti Suzuki WagonR comes wearing a revised design that makes it eye-catching. It could launch here sometime in third quarter of 2018 and Maruti Suzuki has already started testing the car here.
As the test mule of the 2018 Maruti Suzuki WagonR has been spotted in India, it looks like the car retains the basic silhouette. However, there are several distinctive design updates to make the new model fresh looking. It gets a revised front grille and a new larger headlamp cluster. The front fascia looks flatter and there is a larger air intake with horizontal slats making the front bumper bold looking.
At the side profile, the car retains its boxy look and contrary to the speculations there is no sliding door. The ORVMs come sporting turn indicators integrated to them and the glass area is completely blackened. Dimensionally, the new WagonR could appear longer than the current model, while wheelbase too could be increased in order to ensure more space inside the cabin.
At the back, the new WagonR could come featuring revised taillights, an integrated roof spoiler and a refreshed bumper as well. Inside the cabin too, new Maruti Suzuki WagonR will look more upmarket compared to the current model. Expect improved quality materials on seat and upholstery, while the top-spec trim could get a touchscreen infotainment system.
The Indian market-spec 2018 Maruti Suzuki WagonR could come available with the same 1.0-litre petrol engine that is currently on offer with WagonR. Apart from that, there could be a hybrid variant as well. However, the brand is still tightlipped about further details regarding new WagonR.
