Maserati has launched the 2018 Ghibli sedan range in the Indian market. Available in three different variants, the 2018 Maserati Ghibli sedan comes priced at Rs. 1,33,87,856, Rs. 1,38,81,858 and Rs. 1,42,47,814 (ex-showroom) for the base, GranSport and GranLusso respectively. The 2018 Maserati Ghibli range comes incorporating minor design updates at exterior and inside the cabin as well. The luxury sedan has become much more premium compared to its predecessor.
Speaking about the design of the 2018 Maserati Ghibli, this luxury sedan gets revised vertically slated chrome garnished front grille that is unique in each variant. The rear bumper of the sedan has received redesigning touch along with quad-exhaust tips. The sedan boasts sharp looking adaptive LED headlamps, but it comes standard in the GranLusso and GranSport variants only.
Both the Maserati Ghibli GransSport and GranLusso come equipped with sporty and stylish looking alloy wheels with a distinctive appearance, while the GranSport gets black ORVMs and black boot spoiler as well. Maserati claims that the aerodynamic efficiency in the new Ghibli sedans has improved by 7% compared to the predecessor, reducing the drag from 0.31 to 0.29. Making the ride experience much more comfortable in the GranSport and GranLusso is the Skyhook suspension system.
The new Maserati Ghibli gets a large 500-litre boot and a 70-litre capacity fuel tank that ensures a long-running range without refuelling. Inside the cabin, Maserati has added more premiumness with a new steering wheel, large MID, a large touchscreen infotainment system at the centre console. The seat and upholstery materials have been improved significantly. It gets a wide range of safety features.
The 2018 Maserati Ghibli gets power from a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine. Coupled with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, the engine is well capable of churning out 271 bhp of peak power at 4,000 rpm and 600 Nm of peak torque between 2,000 and 2,600 rpm. The sedan gets five different driving modes. On the performance front, the car is capable of accelerating to 0-100 kmph in 6.3 seconds with a top speed of 250 kmph.
