Mercedes-AMG has revealed the all-new G63 luxury SUV online ahead of the car’s debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show next month. The performance focused luxury SUV blends sportscar like performance with extreme off-roading capability. As the German brand claims, this SUV can reach 100 kmph from standstill position in just 45 seconds and it has a top speed capability of 240 kmph.

Clearly the Mercedes-AMG G63 is faster than Range Rover Sport SVR that takes 4.7 second to hit the 100 kmph mark from standstill position. So far, Mercedes-AMG has heavily reengineered the all-new G63 so that the car offers great performance. It gets energy from an all-new 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine that is coupled with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. This engine is already available in other models from Mercedes-AMG and it replaces the 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8 motor that was available in the previous G63.

This new engine is capable of churning out 577 bhp of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 649 Nm of peak torque between 2,500 rpm and 3,500 rpm. This means, the new V8 engine generates 13 bhp extra power compared to the old 5.5-litre V8 motor. As Mercedes-AMG claims, the new G63 gets a heavily reworked suspension setup.

While this was the most interesting part of the car, in terms of design too, new Mercedes-AMG G63 has received several updates flaunting the typical AMG styling elements. It gets circular headlamps with ring like LED daytime running lights, an unique front grille with bold looking shiny vertical slats. It gets an optional AMG Night package. Inside the cabin, the dashboard appears new with a wide touchscreen display that works as he instrument cluster and infotainment system as well. Interior material quality too has been improved and thanks to the increased width and legroom, this SUV offers more comfort to the occupants.
