2018 Mercedes Benz C-Class Facelift Launched at Rs 40 Lakhs

Mercedes Benz India has launched the 2018 C-Class facelift at an introductory price of Rs 40 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. The updated sedan is offered only in diesel fuel trim in three grades: C 220d Prime, C 220d Progressive and C 300d AMG Line. 2018 Mercedes Benz C-Class facelift boasts of both cosmetic as well as mechanical updates. While the sedan has refreshed exterior and new features added, it gets new BS-VI-compliant engine. For those asking, the new C-Class is nearly Rs 3 Lakhs cheaper than the outgoing model.

Speaking of the cosmetic updates at the outside, the 2018 C-Class facelift gets a handful of tweaks as mostly it similar to the outgoing model. It comes with restyled front and rear bumpers. The sedan rides on newly-designed alloy wheels while getting LED bulb in headlamps and tail-lamp cluster. The company has introduced a new silver paint scheme with the sedan. Inside the cabin, the 2018 C-Class facelift boasts of new steering wheel with the dual touchpad control system, which is borrowed from the E-class and S-class. In addition, there is the 12.3-inch digital instrument console and the 10.25-inch touchscreen COMAND infotainment system as standard. The AMG variant is equipped with Active parking assist as standard safety feature.

Mechanically, the sedan is powered by a BS-VI-compliant 2.0L 4-cylinder diesel engine which will also be doing duties to the E-Class All-Terrain, scheduled to launch on September 28, 2018 in the Indian market. The engine delivers power and torque in two tunes: 194bhp and 400Nm with the C 220d & 245bhp and 500Nm with the C 300d AMG Line. The engine is linked to a 9-speed torque convertor automatic transmission which transmits the power to the rear wheels of the sedan. Mercedes Benz C-Class is at loggerheads with BMW 3-Series, Audi A4, Jaguar XE and Volvo S60 in the Indian market.
