Land Rover launched the 2018 model year of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport in India, officially. Though, the bookings for the two commenced in April this year. The new Range Rover gets a priced tag of Rs 1.74 crore and Range Rover Sport is priced at Rs 99.48 lakh (Ex showroom, India). The facelift version will pounce with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLS, Audi Q7 and the Porsche Cayenne.
In terms of exterior, the new model's front end flaunts new Pixel-laser LED headlamps well blended into the new glossy black grille, updated front and rear bumpers. At the rear, the facelift versions of Range Rover also get a more stylish LED insert in the taillights. Even the minor design changes given to the new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport enhanced its strong road presence it already had.
Just like its exterior presence, the interior comes packed a slew of techs in these two models such as a new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system with dual large 10-inch touchscreens that has been borrowed from the Range Rover Velar. The models also get updated front seats with heated armrests, 17 connecting ports for charging and multimedia playing purpose, gesture controlled sun blinds, adaptive cruise control, Queue Assist Function, 4G Wi-Fi hotspot to cater up to 8 devices, to name a few.
Mechanically, the 2018 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will be offered in variety of petrol and diesel guise. The Range Rover Vogue variants 2 diesel options - 3.0L and 4.4L engine, and a 3.0L petrol engine. The former diesel engine makes a power of 255bhp with 600Nm and the latter produces 335bhp with with 740Nm, whereas the petrol engine cranks out 335bhp with 450Nm of torque. The Range Rover Auto Biography variants comes gets 2 petrol engines of 5.0L that tuned in two states – 386bhp with 625Nm, and 416bhp with 700Nm and an 4.4L diesel engine option with 335bhp.
The new Range Rover Sport gets engine options of a 3.0L TDV6 and 4.4L SDV8 diesel engine that belts out 255bhp and 335bhp, respectively. Petrol engine options are a 3.0L V6 supercharged engine that produces 335bhp, whereas the 5.0L V8 supercharged engine will be available in two states of tuning – 518bhp and 567bhp.
