Renault India has launched the 2018 Duster SUV at an introductory price of Rs. 7.95 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) in the country. The diesel variant line-up starts at Rs. 8.95 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). The French automaker has slashed the pricing of the SUV by Rs. 55,000-1,00,000, which would be effective from March 1, 2018. The reduction in price has resulted owing to an increase in localisation. For those asking, Renault Duster has the widest range which includes a diesel manual, diesel AMT, diesel AWD; petrol manual and petrol CVT.

Speaking about the new pricing on the Renault Duster range, Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said, “Renault had one of the highest localization done on KWID with 98% at the time of launch. We are happy to pass on the benefits to the new Duster customers making it more attractive across the range enabled by our aggressive localisation strategy on Duster as well.” Renault Duster is the only big SUV over 4 metre, which offers an automatic variant in less than Rs. 10 Lakhs in India. The reduction in price strongly reflects the company’s focused strategy to grow its business in India with a strong product-offensive plan backed by an aggressive localisation strategy.

Meanwhile, Renault is all set to introduce an all-new C-segment crossover, which would firstly go on sale in Russia like the Captur crossover. The all-new SUV would have its world premiere at the 2018 Moscow International Motor Show in August. It is also being learnt further that the company would offer the SUV in two different versions: a high-spec premium version for developed markets such as France and a cost-effective version for developing markets such as Russia. The developed market model would be based on the advanced CMF-C/D platform, while the developing market model would be underpinning the budget-friendly B0/Logan platform. The SUV could also be launched in the Indian market on the lines of Captur. Below is the variant-wise price of 2018 Renault Duster:
