British luxury car manufacturer Rolls Royce has launched the all-new Phantom in Indian market. The car comes available in two different variants that are standard and extended wheelbase. These two models come priced at Rs. 9.5 crore and Rs. 11.35 crore respectively. These price tags make the eighth generation Rolls Royce Phantom the most expensive car available in the country market,
As the British marquee claims, the all-new Rolls Royce Phantom is built on an aluminium spaceframe platform, which is also the underpinning of the brand’s first ever SUV Cullinan. Thanks to this new architecture, the eighth generation Rolls Royce Phantom comes much more lightweight, yet the rigidity has been increased by 30%. The lightweight frame ensures the sedan comes with much better performance, improved fuel efficiency. However, the stability of the car at high speed has not been affected due to the lowered weight.
Rolls Royce claims that the ride quality and refinement levels have been improved thanks to this all-new lightweight architecture. Speaking about dimension, the newly launched Rolls Royce Phantom comes longer and wider compared to the seventh generation model, while the wheelbase too has been increased in order to make more space for the occupants inside the cabin.
The standard Rolls Royce Phantom gets 5,700 mm of length, while the extended wheelbase variant comes with a length of 5,982 mm. The latter one has a wheelbase of 3,772 mm. It comes loaded with a wide range of technology and bespoke customization options. The most highlighted feature inside the car is the single unit fixed glass with the width of the dashboard. It is christened as Gallery by the automaker and is comes as a customizable canvas that the customers can opt for to incorporate their favourite artwork.
Another very interesting and supreme luxurious feature is the Starlight roof that replicates starry night sky. Apart from that, there are champagne chiller and flutes, door opening and closing buttons. Rolls Royce has done an amazing job in order to make the cabin dead silent, which has made it the quietest car in the world. Now, speaking about the powertrain of the new Rolls Royce Phantom, it gets a massive 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 petrol engine that is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine is capable of churning out 563 bhp of peak power at 5,000 rpm and massive 900 Nm of peak torque from 1,700 rpm.
