The automaker from Japan, Suzuki displayed the new 2018 GSX-R1000 at the Auto Expo 2018. The bike gets a distinctive white color scheme for 2018. At the show, the company also announced its official plans on bringing the new GSX-S750 to the Indian market, and also displayed the new Burgman Street 125 scooter.
The new GSX-R1000 runs on a 999.8cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, 4-cylinder, DOHC fuel-injection engine with Ride-by-Wire throttle bodies. The engine works in conjunction with a 6-speed constant mesh transmission. It boasts of a Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system for enhanced performance without compromising on the efficiency front. The engine churns out close to 200bhp of maximum power @ 13,200 rpm and 117.6 Nm of peak torque comes @ 10,800 rpm.
At the front, it packs inverted telescopic, coil spring, oil damped suspension while at the rear it comes with a single shock, coil spring, oil damped suspension. The front braking is taken cared by Brembo 4-piston, twin disc brakes while at the rear Nissin single-piston disc brake does the braking duties.
The bike packs a slew of modern electronics in the form of Inertia Measurement Unit (IMU), S-DMS adjustable power output, and Suzuki traction control, and other electronics for more manageable performance.
