Japanese auto giant Suzuki has showcased the new generation Jimny to select audience ahead of its official launch at the Tokyo Motor Show in October this year. The showcasing event gave us a clear view of the upcoming new Jimny. It looks like Suzuki has taken styling inspiration from the Mercedes G-Wagen for the exterior design of the car.
The 2018 Suzuki Jimny comes with a black front grille with five vertical slats and the shiny brand logo sits at centre. The front grille is flanked by round projector headlamps and the flat, muscular front bumper gets neatly positioned circular fog lamps. It runs on new five-spoke blackened alloy wheels. Also, the car gets sharp creases at side profile adding style.

The flared wheelarches, black ORVMs, new taillights add zing to the car. The showcased model was painted in a dual-tone colour scheme. So far, the new Suzuki Jimny looks very appealing in comparison with the predecessor. It will be available in three door option. Inside the cabin, the new Jimny gets revised dashboard, a central touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, three-spoke steering wheel. Adding safety to the car will be cameras, autonomous braking system.
Power source for the new Jimny will be a range of petrol engines including a 660 cc three-cylinder unit for the Kei car version and a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged motor. Also, tnere will be a 1.2-litre dual-jet petrol engine and a 1.2-litre conventional petrol motor as well. The car will come offering 4x4 drivetrain layout.
