Bajaj Auto is set to bet on the new 2019 Bajaj Dominar as they get ready to launch the new Bajaj 400cc bike in the near future. Meanwhile, dealerships across India are receiving booking orders for Dominar at a price of Rs 5,000. Recently, the new Bajaj Dominar 400 has been spied testing often.
The next-gen Dominar 400 features a USD fork which seems identical to KTM bike USD forks available in India. Interestingly, this time the brakes are on the other side and to help the cruising characteristic of the Bajaj motorcycle, the Dominar bike’s damping set up is expected to be different. A restyled tank panel design and refurbished exhaust unit with deeper exhaust note are apparent key updates.
The existing Dominar engine is a 373cc, single-cylinder motor that churns 34.5hp and 35Nm of peak torque. Whereas, the new 2019 Dominar would likely be powered by a high performance focussed engine or Bajaj may borrow the KTM 390 Duke DOHC engine. The new engine and refurbished exhaust in the Dominar 400 could be to make it compliant with the new emission regulations, which will come into effect from April 2019.
An updated instrument panel in the much-awaited new Bajaj Dominar is likely. Previously spied Dominar test bikes had a secondary digital unit which shows gear position, odometer and time. Handlebar-fixed primary display is now in place of the previous functions of the tank display.
It is likely that the new Bajaj Dominar 400 bike will be available at dealerships in the near future with the price expected to be more than the existing Dominar model price of Rs 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
