The German automaker, BMW Motorrad is gearing up for the new generation S1000RR and it looks like the specification details of the bike have already leaked online along with a few pictures. The sad part is the bike has lost its signature asymmetrical headlamps which have been now swapped with a new sleek and symmetrical unit. While the rest of the design has been upgraded quite radically. The 2019 model looks a bit more compact with redesigned side fairing and shorter tail section. Also, the bike has tossed away its original shark fins side panel design because the new faring has been given a fairly refreshed look.
The new generation S1000RR will again set a benchmark in technology as it will use new-age electronics with standard features such as ABS, ABS Pro, multiple riding modes (rain, road, dynamic, race), DTC (Dynamic Traction Control), HSC (Hill Start Control), Shift Assist Pro, and TFT instrument cluster.
In terms of mechanical upgrades, the bike will run on a more powerful 999cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, with the same 6-speed gearbox. The engine will now deliver 204bhp of maximum power at 13,500rpm and 113Nm peak torque at 11,000rpm, which is directly 11bhp and 1Nm in excess compared to the ongoing model. The current model retails at Rs 18.05 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), and the new 2019 version is expected to be priced a bit higher.
