BMW Motorrad India has gone out on social media officially proclaiming the arrival of the 2019 BMW S1000RR to the Indian market. BMW Motorrad India’s Instagram page has posted a teaser shot of the upcoming S1000RR LED headlamp with one-half of its eye lit. Without revealing any more details with regard to its launch, BMW has dropped another hint with the second post in three days.

Until official launch announcement is made, we expect the all-new BMW Motorrad S1000RR to make its way to India in May 2019. The upcoming BMW S1000RR version is expected to be pricier than the existing BMW model which retails at Rs. 17.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

In terms of the mechanical configuration and spec comparison, the 2019 S1000RR engine is Euro-V compliant and there is a considerable increase in power output with a maximum power range of 207 hp, up by 8 horsepower. Whereas, the outgoing BMW S1000RR model churns 199 hp at 13,500 rpm and 113 Nm of maximum torque at 10,500 rpm.

After debuting in the 2018 EICMA in Milan, Italy, the new BMW S1000RR is set to rival the likes of Yamaha YZF-R1, Kawasaki ZX-10R and Ducati Panigale V4 in the Indian market. The extra-performance loaded 2019 BMW S1000RR will also sport notable highlights like a completely new facade and a new 6.5-inch display in the upgraded cockpit.

The 2019 BMW S1000RR model carries an enhanced power-to-weight ratio, thanks to its trimmed down weight of 197 kgs. A new feature that further reduces the weight of the BMW motorcycle is the M package in the 2019 S1000RR which makes it lighter at 193.5 kgs due to the M options and M Performance Parts which is a first-time offer by BMW Motorrad in the new S1000RR. The new S1000RR M package option offers M carbon fibre wheels, M chassis kit with adjustable rear ride height and swingarm pivot, M lightweight battery, Motorsport paint finish, Pro Mode and M sport seat.

The new BMW S1000RR bike will have varied valve strokes and valve timings on the intake as the 2019 model will now be offered with the BMW ShiftCam Technology. BMW Motorrad has equipped the new S1000RR with four modes i.e., Dynamic, Race, Rain and Road as standard and extra three riding modes are offered in the Pro Mode, which is optional.
