2019 Hero Maestro Edge 125 India Launch will happen in May 2019

Hero MotoCorp launched three new motorcycles yesterday - the Xpulse 200 (Carb & FI), the Xpulse 200T and the Xtreme 200S. And now, the homegrown motorcycle manufacturer is prepping up to launch the bigger Maestro - Hero Maestro Edge 125. The Maestro Edge 125 was showcased at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo alongside the Hero Duet 125, while the latter is on sale with the badge of Destini 125, the former is still awaiting its official arrival.

Powering the Hero Maestro Edge 125 is an air-cooled, single-cylinder 124.6 cc engine. Hero calls it 'Energy Boost' and the engine is capable of churning out 8.7 bhp of peak power at 6,750 rpm and 10.2 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine will be equipped with Hero MotoCorp's patented i3S technology that modulates fuel consumption to deliver better fuel economy. The Hero Maestro Edge 125 will be equipped with telescopic forks at the front and spring-fitted hydraulic damper at the rear to provide a comfortable journey to the rider.

Braking responsibility on the Maestro Edge 125 will be carried by drum brakes at both front and back. The top-end variant will also feature a disc brake at the front. Integrated Braking technology will be standard on the variants of Maestro Edge 125, Hero calls it 'CBS'. The CBS technology minimizes the risk of skidding by balancing the braking power at both the ends, hence ensuring the rider's safety.

There is no official word on the pricing of Hero Maestro Edge 125 but we expect it to be between Rs 57,000 to Rs 60,000. Hero Destini 125 was launched to cater the Indian families and Hero will market the Maestro 125 to the younger audience. At this price point, Hero Maestro Edge 125 will be up against the likes of - TVS NTorq 125,Suzuki Access 125 and Honda Activa 125.
