Honda Cars India revealed the engine specifications and other details of the highly anticipated sedan scheduled to be launched next month. The 10th generation Civic packs a number of exciting features and also comes with a diesel engine that will surely help the brand to make an impact in the executive sedan category.
The Civic will be available in two engine options, 1.8-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel, churning out 140 bhp at 6500 RPM and 120 bhp at 4000 RPM, respectively. The power figures for diesel engine seems low but, Honda claims an impressive mileage of 26.8 Kmpl out of the mill. The petrol variant engine is mated to a 7 step CVT gearbox and also offers paddle shifters with three riding modes namely - Eco, City and Sports. The i-VTEC engine's torque figures are 174 Nm at 4300 RPM and claimed fuel efficiency stands at 16.5 Kmpl. The i-DTEC diesel variant is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox making 300 Nm of torque at 2000RPM. Both the engine options are BS IV but will be upgraded to BS VI before the emission norms kicks-in.
The car is equipped with Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, ABS, Vehicle Stability Assist, Lane Watch Camera, Six Airbags, Brake Assist and electronic brake distribution that earned it a 5 Star Rating from ASEAN NCAP.
