Honda is all set to launch the new Honda Civic again in early March in India and some feature details have surfaced online. Earlier, we also reported about the upcoming Honda Civic specification, revealing the engine and transmission details. The new Civic will be introduced a single loaded variant with a choice of two engine – petrol as well as diesel.
Speaking of the Exterior, the new Honda civic would get LED headlamps with DRLs, chrome garnishing on the front grille, fog lamp and door handles, while the turn indicators are placed on the front quarter panel. The new executive sedan also gets a set of newly designed 17-inch alloys. On the inside, the upcoming Honda Civic 2019 would boast of many features that will take neck to neck with its rivals like a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat and a smart key (with controls such as boot opening, sunroof operating, engine on/off along with power windows). The car would also get features like cruise control, automatic wipers, push-button start along with 7-inch MID that displays phone book, call history, access to music, door opening alert, seat-belt reminder and average fuel efficiency along with distance to empty trip.
For the safety, the car will come with a first-in-segment feature like lane-keeping assist along with other kit necessities such as ABS with EBD, six airbags, agile handling assist, stability control, an electric parking brake along with auto-hold feature, hill-start assist, reverse parking camera, Isofix child-seat mounts and auto-lock when walk away.
Mechanically, the 2019 Honda Civic would be offered with two engine choices - 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. The petrol engine will crank out 140 bhp of power with 174 Nm of top torque, whereas the diesel will make 118 bhp of maximum power with 300 Nm of peak torque. The petrol version will come paired with a 7-speed CVT along with paddle shifters and drive modes - Eco, City and Sports and the diesel variant will get a 6-speed manual transmission. Honda Civic petrol variant would return a mileage of 16.5 kmpl, while being low on power; the diesel version would return a good fuel efficiency of 26.8 Kmpl.
The upcoming Honda Civic price in India is expected to fall Rs 15.5 lakh to 19.5 lakh. The new Civic will compete with the Hyundai Elantra that gets a price range of Rs 15.12 lakh-Rs 18.90 lakh), Toyota Corolla Altis, ranging between Rs 16.45 lakh-Rs 19.36 lakh and Skoda Octavia with a price starting from Rs 15.99 lakh to Rs 25.99 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).
