Honda Cars India is all set to launch the 10th generation Civic today in New Delhi. Civic is the most loved product by Honda purists and it is the longest running automotive nameplate of Honda Cars. The executive class sedan has also got a number of exciting features that make it a notch above than the competition. Also, the Japanese carmaker has introduced a Diesel variant of the car which is a first as well, to leverage the untapped audience. The 2019 Honda Civic was first showcased at the Auto Expo - The Motor Show 2018, Greater Noida. The premium sedan is loaded with driver aides like - Traction Control, Hill-start Assist, ABS, Lane Watch Camera, Vehicle Stability Assist, Brake Assist with Electronic Brake Distribution System, Six Airbags and Lane Watch Camera.

The 1.8L i-VTEC petrol engine comes mated to a CVT gearbox and also offers paddle shifters to satisfy the enthusiastic drivers as well. It comes with 3 riding modes - Eco, City and Sports. The i-VTEC engine claims a fuel efficiency of 16.5KmPl and churns out 174 Nm of torque at 4300 rpm. The diesel variant gets a 1.6L i-DTEC engine, married to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The mill churns out 300 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. Honda cars have claimed an impressive 26.8KmPl of fuel efficiency from the diesel engine. Both the petrol and diesel engines are BS IV but will be upgraded to BS VI as the emission norm nears.

2019 Honda Civic's production has already commenced in HCIL's Greater Noida plant and Honda has exceeded their expected  3-week pre-booking numbers. This fact clearly shows the excitement amongst the potential buyers for the 2019 Honda Civic. Honda claims to have undertaken a comprehensive R&D for the development of the 10th generation Civic and we all have to wait to see how it unfolds for the Japanese carmaker.
