Honda Cars India has commenced the production of it all new 10th generation Civic in its Greater Noida plant. Civic gets an impressive safety kit that helped the car to receive a 5 Star rating from ASEAN NCAP, prior to India launch. The 10th generation Civic packs a number of exciting features and it has been introduced in a diesel variant as well that will surely help the Japanese brand to make an impact in the Indian executive sedan category.
The petrol variant engine is mated to a 7 step CVT gearbox and also offers paddle shifters with three riding modes namely - Eco, City and Sports. The i-VTEC engine's torque figures are 174NM at 4300RPM and claimed fuel efficiency stands at 16.5KmPl. The 1.6L i-DTEC diesel variant is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox making 300NM of torque at 2000RPM. The diesel motor is claimed to give a fuel efficiency of 26.8KmPl. Both the engine options are BS IV but will be upgraded to BS VI before the emission norms kicks-in.
