The new Hyundai Grand i10 is expected to launch somewhere around October 2019 in India. The 2019 version has been spotted numerous times doing test rounds on the Indian streets. These test mules were heavily camouflaged so it is hard to tell about the styling about the models in details, but an image of the model’s interior has surfaced online. We can expect the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 to be priced a bit higher than the ongoing model, between Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
Going by the images, the new version of the hatchback seems more spacious from the inside, compared to the existing model. This has been done by redesigning the dashboard, retaining its dual-tone nature is dual where the centre console is protruding along with a better styling for storage space in it. The seats seem to get slimmer now that also aids in more cabin space and now comes with adjustable headrest. The spy shot shows that the car gets twin pods with an info display at the centre in the instrument cluster, same as seen on the Santro hatchback. What also seems that the power window buttons are placed at the centre. The top-end variant is expected to come with either a 7-inch or 8-inch touchscreen display along with a different instrument console that will be better suited for the high-end variants only along with automatic climate control feature.
Under the bonnet, the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 facelift is expected to come packed with the same 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines offered on the existing model. The 1.2L VTVT petrol engine makes 82 bhp with 114 Nm of peak torque; the diesel, on the other hand, gets a 1.2L U2 CRDi unit that produces power figures of 74 bhp with 190 Nm of top torque. The change that will likely come on the powertrain is an AMT unit instead of Hyundai’s automatic transmission. This will make the product more affordable as well as more fuel efficient.
