The upcoming 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 will soon make its launch in India ahead of its public debut at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, just like the second-generation model that debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 is likely to make its launch on August 20, 2019. Earlier, Hyundai planned to launch and debut the new Grand i10 same day as it would be showcased at the Show, but rather than waiting too long, the Korean car manufacturer has an excuse to launch it prior to the festive season.
Mechanically, the upcoming 2019 Hyundai Grand i190 facelift will continue to come with the set of powertrain as seen on the existing Grand i10 – a 1.2L VTVT petrol unit that develops 82 bhp of power with 114 Nm of torque and a 1.2L U2 CRDi engine that makes 74 bhp of max power with 190 Nm of peak torque. However, the major change is on the powertrain side is the AMT unit that would come coupled rather than company’s 4-speed automatic transmission (torque converter). Making use of an AMT unit will indeed make the model more frugal and also keep a check on the pricing in the situation of the rising cost year on year.
Hyundai has shared a teaser image of the model globally, where the teaser tells about the shoulder line as well as the floating roofline of the model. The image also displays beltline rising towards the rear side of the model and the LED taillamps. In quite some time the car has been spotted testing on the Indian streets and we talk about the model, exterior wise, the Hyundai Grand i10 is likely to bit longer wheelbase and the car will be based on the same platform as the Hyundai Venue and will also under underpin the new upcoming Kia Picanto as well as Kia’s new subcompact SUV, which is codenamed QYI.
