Hyundai has a slew of launches lined-up for the Indian market in the next few months. While the all new Santro is set for launch during the festive season in October, Hyundai is also working on the all-new Grand i10 which is expected to take a generation leap. A spy shot of a heavily camouflaged Grand i10 has surfaced on the inter-web which further cements launch of an all-new Grand i10. It is expected that Hyundai could launch the new Grand i10 in the country sometime in 2019 (festive season). Aside from the new-gen Grand i10, the company is also working on a sub four-meter SUV which will go against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford Ecosport in the segment. Being developed under the codename Hyundai QXi, the testing for the SUV has already begun and is likely to be rolled out before the new Grand i10.
Coming to the next-gen Grand i10, the B segment hatchback is said to receive cosmetic updates. At front, expect it to get Hyundai’s new cascading grille while the swooping headlamps with halogen units are likely to be carried out. Going by the spy image, the hatchback will retain the basic silhouette though it will get styling changes like a rising beltline that will run across the length of the car and meet with the enlarged tail-lamps at the back. The spotted car was seen sporting steel wheels, though the top-spec variant is expected to get dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels.
List of features on the new Hyundai Grand i10 is likely to include a floating type touchscreen, a multifunction steering wheel, automatic climate controls, cooled glove compartment and rear AC vent. In tandem with the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program (BNVSAP) safety regulation, the new-gen Grand i10 will not only offer high crash protection but will also pack standard dual front airbags, ABS, reverse parking sensors, speed alert system and seatbelt warning from the front passengers. While Hyundai will introduce its AMT gearbox christened ‘Smart Auto’ on the upcoming AH2 (Santro), it could also offer the same unit as an optional provision on the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10.
