KTM - the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer has launched the 2019 KTM RC 125 at Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom), today. The pocket supersport takes styling cues from its bigger sibling the KTM RC 200 and gets propulsion from the same KTM 125 Duke motor. As reported earlier, dealerships have already started to accept bookings of the motorcycle ahead of the launch. One can book the same by depositing a sum of Rs 5,000.
The 2019 KTM RC 125 is powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 124.7 cc, fuel injected, DOHC motor. The motor is capable of churning out 14 bhp of peak power at 9,250 rpm and 12 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. The motor is linked to a 6-speed gearbox and the baby RC 125 does the 0 to 60 kmph speed sprint in 5.4 seconds. The motorcycle sails on 17-inchers at both front and back. Braking duties are being carried by a single 300 mm disc at the front and 230 mm disc at the rear. A single-channel ABS unit further enhances the braking power of KTM RC 125.
The RC 125 is also equipped with USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear. The engine sits in a steel trellis frame and the bike tips the scale at 154.2 kg (dry). The motorcycle has 835 mm of seat height and 157 mm of ground clearance. The most affordable fully-faired KTM in the country right now has two colour options to choose from. The motorcycle has got an underbelly exhaust instead of a side-slung unit and other features include - projector headlamp, split seats and triple clamp handlebar.
The deliveries of KTM RC 125 will begin from the end of this month. KTM has promised that the RC 125 will provide the rider with true KTM experience as it comprises great handling and performance while carrying the racing genes from the much-celebrated RC16. The key rival of KTM RC 125 includes the popular Yamaha R15 which is priced at Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom).
