Following the launch of the KTM 200 Duke ABS recently, the Austrian auto brand has now launched the RC 200 ABS version in India at a price of Rs 1.88 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). It has been priced Rs 9,000 more than the existing non-ABS variant. This full fairing KTM motorcycle is Rs 28,000 costlier than the KTM 200 Duke ABS.
In order to make the KTM bike affordable and competitive, it has been given a single-channel ABS unit. Other advantages to the 2019 KTM RC 200 motorcycle include anti-lift technology equipped in the back to prevent the rear wheel to lift on applying heavy brakes.
Nonetheless, the new 2019 KTM bike remains largely the same with the configuration of the existing RC 200 model. The KTM RC 200 2019 model houses a 199.5cc, liquid cooled, single-cylinder, a fuel-injected motor that churns 25 PS of peak power at 10,000 rpm and 19.2 Nm of maximum torque at 8,000 rpm and the engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
The new KTM RC 200 features an all-digital instrument cluster, twin projector headlamps, USD fork in the front and a monoshock suspension at the rear.
Braking in the front wheel is performed by a 280mm single disc and in the rear wheel by a 230mm disc.
Bookings for the new RC 200 ABS variant have begun. However, the current KTM RC200 will continue to be sold till the remaining non-ABS units are exhausted. The 2019 KTM RC 200 ABS will be pitted against the Bajaj RS 200 ABS, Honda CBR250R and Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 ABS.
