India’s leading car giant, Maruti Suzuki India has revealed prices of the 2019 Maruti Eeco that has been updated with new safety features in line with the upcoming safety norms set to be introduced in a phased manner this year. Prices for the updated Maruti Eeco start from Rs 3.55 lakh and go up to Rs 6.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), based on the variant one picks.
As a mandate under the new safety norms introduced from this month the 2019 Maruti Eeco gets an ABS system. Other safety tech such as driver side airbag, reverse parking sensors, front seat belt reminders and speed alert system will be mandated effective July. Just to remind you, Maruti Suzuki Eeco missed out on all the above features that have been introduced recently as part of the standard kit.
On the other hand, the tour V variant in the Maruti Eeco line-up gets a speed limiter though it misses out on the speed warning system. It also gets driver side airbag for which the steering wheel has been borrowed from Maruti Suzuki Alto. The Maruti Eeco receives no updates save for the new safety kit.
The engine-transmission set-up has also been retained as it continues to derive power form the G12B 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine good for maximum power of 73.42 PS at 6,000 rpm against top torque of 101 Nm at 3,000 rpm. The CNG variants in the line-up put out 62.54 PS at 6,000 rpm along with 83 Nm torque. Transmission duties are taken care of by the conventional 5-speed manual gearbox. The Maruti Eeco carline is available in STD (passenger), Tour V, Cargo and Care variants. All the variants are available in CNG option save for the Care trim.
