After Maruti Suzuki launched the Baleno facelift and the new Wagon R, the company is now set to launch the new 2019 Baleno RS – an upgraded version of the performance-oriented hatchback.
The much-awaited Baleno facelift images are featured on the Maruti Suzuki Nexa Experience website. The Baleno Sport variant too will receive an upgrade soon, without changes in the mechanical configuration.
Just like the new Baleno, the new Baleno RS will sport a refreshed facade with a new bumper, new fog lamp casings and a big air dam. The picture suggests newly designed alloy wheels and in the interior, the 2019 Baleno RS facelift is expected to get new shades for the cabin. A feature included in the new Wagon R for the first time is Maruti’s new SmartPlay infotainment system, which is also another addition expected in the new Baleno RS facelift.
The mechanical aspect of the 2019 Baleno RS facelift is expected to remain the same. The Maruti Baleno RS houses a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol motor that can churn 102hp and 150Nm of max torque. It only comes paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The new Baleno RS facelift is likely to be available in a fully-loaded variant, just as the existing model, through Maruti Suzuki Nexa showrooms. The Baleno RS is practical and performance-oriented which makes it an easy-to-drive hatchback below the price tag of INR 10 lakh and also an affordable performance car in the Indian market that rivals the Fiat Punto, Tata Tiago JTP and Volkswagen Polo GT TSI.
