Maruti Suzuki India has a couple of models in its kitty, which it plans to roll-out in the coming months. While XL6 is all set to launch on August 21, 2019, the company is getting ready for the festive season as it plans to launch the facelifted Maruti Ignis around October. The B-segment model, known for its SUV-ish looks, is expected to receive subtle styling updates. One of the major changes in the 2019 Maruti Ignis Facelift will be the addition of BS6 compliant 1.2-litre petrol unit, in tandem with the upcoming stringent emission norms which will be implemented from April 1, 2020.
Visually, expect the 2019 Maruti Ignis to sport maximum changes in front with Vitara Brezza inspired elements enhancing its looks. A chrome-finished grille and redesigned bumper featuring faux skid plate along with restyled fog lamp enclosures are expected to be seen in front. At the side, it will ostensibly get new alloy wheels, while the rear end is expected to sport minor tweaks.

On the inside, it could get an all-new upholstery and new trim for the dashboard. Save for these subtle changes, the 2019 Maruti Suzuki Ignis is likely to remain unchanged. As for specifications, the current model houses a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine good for a maximum power of 83 bhp at 6,000 rpm against top torque of 113 Nm at 4,200 rpm.
While the engine will be retained, it will be upgraded to abide by the upcoming BS6 emission norms. Also, the five-speed manual gearbox along with the 5-speed AMT unit is likely to be carried over. The Mahindra KUV100 rival lately received new safety features in line with the recently imposed AIS 145 safety norms.
