The 2019 Maruti Suzuki Ignis launch date is out and is likely to launch on February 25. The 2019 model of Ignis has started making its way to dealerships. Maruti Suzuki started the year with a bang by launching the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, then after came out with many facelift versions like 2019 Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Baleno RS with some minor tweaks.
The new Maruti Suzuki Ignis will come with more safety kit packing as per the new safety regulations that would come into effect from July 1, 2019. The 2019 Ignis already gets standards features like ABS with EBD, Dual-front airbags, speed sensing door locking system, driver’s side seatbelt reminder and Isofix child-seat mounts and the this year’s upgrade adds high-speed warning system along with front passenger seat belt reminder across the model line-up.
Earlier, the Sigma and Delta variants were missing out the rear parking sensors too, but now these variant are loaded with this feature as well. Both the Zeta as well as Alpha trims get roof rails. The new Maruti Suzuki Ignis is likely to feature a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SmartPlay that you will find on the new Maruti Suzuki Wagon R as well as 2019 Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
Talking about the engine, the new Maruti Ignis will come packed with the same of engines – a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre K12M four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 82 bhp with 113 Nm of torque and a 1.3-litre D13A diesel engine, which is now discontinued due to less demand in the market. The transmission duties will be carried out with the same 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual transmission, while the entire petrol range delivers an ARAI fuel efficiency of 20.89 kmpl.
Currently, the Ignis hatchback price starts from Rs 4.66 lakh for the Sigma petrol base variant and goes up to Rs 7.05 lakh for the Alpha automatic version. The car is offered in a total of seven trim levels and that apart, we can expect the 2019 version to be offered with the same pricing.
