Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new-generation Wagon R on January 23, 2018 in the Indian market. However, prior to the official launch, the new hatch has been spotted at a dealership with no camouflage at all. Both the exterior as well as interior of the 2019 Maruti Wagon R can be seen in clear images. It will carry a host of premium features while coming with as many as four engine options in form of a 1.0L petrol, 1.0L petrol-LPG, 1.0L petrol-CNG and a 1.2-litre petrol, which is a first for the hatchback.

Going by the spy images, the cabin will boast of a circular multi-information display cluster which has grown in size, as opposed to the ongoing model which feature a tachometer. In addition, the 2019 Maruti Wagon R will get a huge touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, which are not on offer with the current model. The touchscreen unit doesn't appear to be the traditional SmartPlay system. The hatch also comes with a new and more premium steering wheel, most probably sourced from the Ignis. The centre console is integrated with the gearshift lever in a bid to offer more space for the occupants. The AC vents now flaunt sleeker design.
The new-gen Wagon R will be sold through Maruti's Arena sales network in the country. As told before, the hatch will be available in a total of four engine options, including the 1.2L engine. These engines will be offered with 5-speed manual transmission and 5-speed AGS automated manual gearbox. As reported earlier, the new Wagon R is based on the revamped version of current platform. It is expected to be more fuel efficient and safer than the current one. The prices can be expected to start at Rs 4.25 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) while it will compete with the recently launched 2018 Hyundai Santro, Honda Brio, Ford Figo and Tata Tiago in the Indian market.
