Maserati has pulled the covers off the Levante GTS at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The super SUV comes powered by a Ferrari-sourced 3.8-litre V8 twin-turbo engine that churns out 542 bhp of peak power. Transmission duty is done by an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox sending power to the rear wheels. This performance focused luxury SUV is capable of accelerating to 100 kmph from standstill position in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 291 kmph. It is positioned below the top-end Maserati Levante Trofeo.
The Maserati Levante GTS features sportier styling compared to the standard version of the SUV. It boasts new design 22-inch alloy wheels, updated front and rear fascias, full LED headlamps. Inside the cabin, it gets a premium audio system, new premium leather upholstery. The gear selector too has received an update in this new model.
As Maserati says, this SUV is budget friendly for those, who consider the top-end Maserati Levate Trofeo as too pricey. The luxury carmaker announced the pricing of the car at around $120,000. If we compare it with the Levante Maserati Trofeo, the top-end model is bit more powerful and faster. It can accelerate to 0-100 kmph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 300 kmph.
