Mercedes Benz India has announced the launch of GLC Facelift on December 3, 2019, in the country. Having made its world premiere at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in March, it was spotted as a test mule on Indian roads earlier.
Speaking of the 2019 GLC SUV, it is a mid-cycle facelift with multiple exterior and interior updates. The SUV now features redesigned headlamps, flanked by a tweaked radiator grille. The new grille design comes with diamond lattice and differently shaped louvres.
Both the front and rear bumpers have also been restyled while the tail-lamp cluster boasts of new inserts which make it appear even more desirable.
The Mercedes GLC Facelift cabin gets a big 10.25-inch MBUX touchscreen infotainment system with voice commands such as "Hey Mercedes". It is also equipped with an upgraded steering wheel with Touch Control buttons, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a keyless go-start function.
The company's Dynamic Body Control suspension system with infinitely adjustable dampers at the front as well as the rear is available as standard.
Mechanically, 2019 Mercedes GLC Facelift will be powered by a BS 6 certified 2.0L diesel engine which will generate top power of 191bhp and peak torque of 400Nm. The test mule spotted on the Indian roads was carrying the badge GLC 220d 4Matic, so it is almost confirmed.
The German luxury automaker might also introduce the petrol variant GLC 300 4MATIC with a 2.0L engine while it churns out 254bhp and 370Nm. Both the engines will be linked to a 9-speed automatic transmission as standard.
The company will also launch the new-gen GLE in Q1 2020 in the Indian market.
