Tata Motors-JaguarLand Rover owned Range Rover Evoque SUV is all set to make a comeback with the second generation variant as the UK based company dropped a teaser of the new model sculpted in a wire structure built to scale.
The 2019 Evoque SUV is slated to mark its global debut on 22nd November 2018 and bookings will open on the same day for the European market.
Land Rover asserts that the new 2019 Evoque will set new benchmarks in terms of design and sustainability. The closely-fitted roof, fastback-like rear, glossy headlights and taillights remain unchanged however the new additions or design are borrowed from the Range Rover Velar.
In the beginning, the Evoque will house Ingenium range of 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel and petrol motors mated to an automatic transmission. The power delivery is expected to be from 148 to 296 PS. There’s no news of a plug-in hybrid version so far.
The 2019 Range Rover Evoque will most likely be built on the improvised D8 platform with an extended wheelbase for spacious interior at the rear. The new D8 architecture will follow mild-hybrid technology as Land Rover plans electrification in its models from the year 2020.
The new 2019 Evoque is expected to get a bigger detailed grille, a new bumper and new LED headlights with signature DRLs and same changes at the rear. With dual displays on the center console and instrument panel, it’s more like its predecessor. It is expected to come with a range of new premium features along with an updated infotainment system.
India launch would be sometime after its global debut.
