Renault India has updated the Kwid for the 2019 model year by adding more features and the interesting part is that the price still remains the same, starting at Rs 2.66 lakh and the range goes up to Rs 4.63 lakh (All prices, ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end Renault Kwid Climber AMT. The Renault Kwid directly takes on the Maruti Suzuki Alto and Datsun Redigo.
Now, the 2019 Renault Kwid gets more safety features along with enhanced infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and also features push-to-talk along with video playback through USB. In terms of safety, the new Kwid has been updates as per the upcoming safety norms that would come in to effect from April 1, 2019, and will be mandatory for the all cars manufactured in the country. It now comes equipped with driver’s side airbag, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminder for both driver and passenger, and a speed alert system as standard fitment across the model range.
Under the bonnet, the 2019 Kwid will come packed with the same set of Engines - 0.8-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 53 bhp of power and 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that makes 67 bhp with 91 Nm of top torque. Speaking of the transmission, both the engines come paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, whereas the 1.0-litre gets an option of a 5-speed AMT as well.
