If sources are to be believed, Suzuki Motorcycles India is in the news again as reports are doing the rounds that the trial production of the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF and the Gixxer 155 is underway in the run-up to launch the 2019 version of the Suzuki Gixxer bikes with refurbished features and style. Also, since its rival, the Yamaha FZ series has already received an upgrade.
The upcoming Suzuki motorcycles are expected to feature full LED headlamp as its competitors, like the Honda CB Hornet 160R and newly launched FZ bikes have recently introduced the same.
Starting with the Suzuki Burgman Street 125, which included a LED headlight, the company is expected to feature the same in other offerings in its portfolio and the new Gixxer 155 and Gixxer SF may soon follow suit. An upgraded metre console and cosmetic changes would be visible along with the LED headlamp.
Though the Suzuki Gixxer engine would remain BS-IV compliant, ABS will be offered as a standard fitment on the new Gixxer models. However, the BS-VI engine is expected to feature in the all-new 2020 Suzuki Gixxer model.
In terms of the mechanical configuration, the Gixxer motorcycle will be powered by a 154.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that churns 14.8 PS of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of maximum torque at 6,000 rpm, with the power transmission to the rear wheel supported by a 5-speed gearbox.
The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer bikes are expected to carry a marginal price hike than the existing Gixxer models. As of now, the current Gixxer SF is available for Rs. 97,524, Gixxer 155 ABS sells for Rs. 88,390 and the fuel-injected Gixxer SF price is Rs. 1,01,354.
