The iconic British automaker, Triumph Motorcycles has officially unveiled the new 2019 Scrambler 1200 motorbike. As the company says, the Scrambler 1200 will be the most adventure focused bike in its category and will derive power from the same 1200cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine as seen on the Thruxton R motorcycle but will be tuned differently. The Scrambler 1200 will be available in two versions including the XC and XE. The former will be the base version while the latter will be the more adventure-focused variant.
The new bike also comes with a newly developed double cradle chassis that has been built specifically for the Scrambler 1200. The company likes to call it the first of its kind ‘Dual Purpose Classic/Adventure Cross-Over’ bike which only signifies how serious it is towards off-road riding. The bike features 21-inch front wheel with tubeless tyres and spoke wheels, and at the rear sits a 17-inch unit shod to semi-blocky Metzeler Tourance tyres.
The suspension duties are taken care by a 45mm fully adjustable Showa USD fork as well as a set of fully adjustable Ohlins dual shocks at the back, which is a standard equipment on the XC, while the XE comes with fatter 47mm Showa fork up front and the same rear suspension.
Soon after the international debut, the bike will make its way to the Indian market. Stay tuned as we bring you more updates on the same.
