Triumph Motorcycles India will launch the new Street Scrambler and Street Twin motorcycles in India on 14th February 2019. The new Triumph bikes include cosmetic upgrades even though there is no change in their design which is a mix of modern and retro style.

The updated new 2019 Street Twin receives refurbished new side panels and wheels and now the analogue metre console has a black skirting topped by a metal ‘Bonneville’ plate. It now gets adjustable levers and aluminium headlamp covers.

Both the Triumph Street Scrambler and Street Twin bikes derive power from a 900cc, parallel-twin engine with improved figures, which now churns 65hp at 7,400rpm which was previously 55hp. Earlier the maximum power figure was 5,900rpm, which now clocks at 7,500rpm along with 500rpm higher redline figure of 7,500rpm, however, maximum torque is the same at 80Nm but can now do a 3,800rpm unlike 3,200rpm earlier. Even though the torque is the same, this time Triumph has focused on flattening out the curve, hence generating higher torque in the rev band.

The upgraded engine gets a balancer shaft, lightweight clutch, lighter crank and magnesium cam cover. There are two riding modes – Road and Rain which both the Triumph Street bikes share. However, there is an extra riding mode feature for off-road riding in the Triumph Street Scrambler motorcycle. Even though switching to riding modes alters throttle response and traction control system, it does not directly change power output and the traction control is switchable. ABS unit is equipped in both Triumph bikes, however, the Street Scrambler ABS unit at the front and rear can be detached.

Replacing the 2-piston Nissin unit are Brembo 4-piston front brake callipers this time and a higher spec 41mm fork included in the new Triumph Street motorcycles.

The 2019 Street Scrambler and Street Twin will soon be available in the Indian market and an official announcement of the prices is awaited until launch. Presently, the Triumph Street Twin price is Rs. 7.70 lakh and the Triumph Street Scrambler price is Rs. 8.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
