The 2020 Honda Africa Twin has been leaked online ahead of its launch. The new iteration of the motorcycle gets substantial cosmetic and mechanical updates while being offered in two variants: Standard and Adventure. Both the variants get a plethora of visual updates while based on an all-new chassis. The company is also offering a dual-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) as standard.
Speaking about the updates in length, 2020 Honda Africa Twin standard variant flaunts a smaller windscreen and even smaller engine bash plate. It also gets the traditional wire-spoke wheels. The rear panel is relatively smaller than the current model, which exposes the sub-frame. The entry-level variant is deprived of pannier mounts, while it gets a new flatter seat design. Coming to the Adventure variant, it boasts of a bigger windscreen with an extra pair of LED lamps positioned below the twin LED headlamps. It also has a bigger fuel tank with an even larger and broader engine bash plate. It also features pannier mounts at the rear alongside a cross-spoke wheel design.
Both the variants have certain elements in common such as full LED headlamp and blinkers. In addition, the duo will also benefit from a new TFT display which is mounted horizontally and could also be offered with Bluetooth connectivity. Under the hood, there will be a Euro-V compliant 1,084 cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine, which is bigger and more powerful than before while it will replace the current model's 998cc engine. It will develop the top power of 99bhp and multiple riding modes. The engine will be linked with a manual gearbox as standard while automatic transmission will be available as optional.
