The new-gen 2020 Honda City had its world premiere a few hours back in Thailand. Now, the Japanese automaker has taken the wraps off the sporty RS variant. The 2020 City sedan will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel trims in three grades: S, V, and SV.
It is for the first time ever that Honda has introduced the RS sporty variant with the City sedan. The sedan will also be launched in India by mid-2020.
Speaking of the exterior styling, 2020 Honda City RS flaunts a gloss black front grille with RS logo embossed in it. The front bumper is tweaked as well while sporty LED headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs) and LED foglamps, to sum up, the exterior updates.
The side profile boasts of black power-retractable ORVMs with turn indicators while the rear end gets spoiler in gloss black with RS symbol. The sedan rides on newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels as compared to the standard variants which used smaller 15-inch wheels.
The cabin features a lot of RS elements such as new leather seats that get red stitching. The instrument cluster comprises of two analogue clock dials on left and right, while between them in the center is the Multi-information Display (MID). The company has also introduced an exclusive Ignite Red paint scheme for the RS variant of the sedan.
The Honda City Facelift safety features include 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, VSA, HSA, and a rearview camera to name a few. Mechanically, it will be powered by the same 1.0L turbocharged VTEC petrol engine with a top power of 120bhp. It will be linked to a 7-speed CVT gearbox with paddle shifters.
