Hyundai has introduced the 2020 Hyundai Creta in China with a new name, ix25.
The next-gen Hyundai Creta starting price is 109,800 Yuan (approx. Rs 11 lakhs).
The Indian launch could happen any time next year.
Hyundai plans to introduce the 2020 Hyundai Creta at the Auto Expo 2020 in India. In the meanwhile, they have launched the vehicle, also known as ix25 in China.
The Hyundai ix25 pricing of its base variant starts from 109,800 Yuan whereas the top-end version is available for 150,800 Yuan. Translated into INR, the corresponding values are Rs 11 lakhs and Rs 15 lakhs, respectively.
Though named the next-gen Hyundai Creta, the exterior of the vehicles looks distinct from the current model. The car has an international look that matches with the Hyundai Palisade and Hyundai Sonata. The split headlight and the cascading front grille make up the front fascia, whereas the tail lamp has a similar design.
Compared to the present-gen Hyundai Creta, the vehicle has a curvier appearance. The dimensions measure 4300mm X 1790mm X 1622mm (LxWxH). It boasts of an enormous wheelbase measuring 2610mm.
Feature-wise, the Hyundai ix25 is vastly superior to the current-gen Hyundai Creta. The touchscreen infotainment system doubles up as an HVAC control unit, similar to what is available in MG Hector.
The Hyundai ix25 interior has a dual-tone beige and black feel. This car features a digital multi-information display along with Bluetooth connectivity.
The next-gen Hyundai Creta shares its engine with the Kia Seltos. The Kia Seltos features a 1.5L BSVI compliant petrol and diesel engine capable of generating power of 115ps each. The petrol and diesel engine variants deliver a torque of 144Nm and 250Nm, respectively.
The next-gen Hyundai Creta could also get the 1.4L turbo-petrol engine from the Kia Seltos GT trim. The next-gen Hyundai Creta pricing in India could be between Rs 10 lakhs and Rs 15 lakhs. This vehicle competes with the MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, and Kia Seltos.
