- 2020 Hyundai Creta based on China-spec ix25 while inspired by Palisade SUV.
The second-gen Hyundai Creta has been spotted testing ahead of its purported launch at the Auto Expo 2020 in February. Being based on the China-spec ix25, it will be bigger, spacious and advanced than the current model.
The SUV will be offered with a total of three engine options, including two petrol and diesel. It will rival the likes of MG Hector, Nissan Kicks, Tata Harrier, and Kia Seltos.
The 2020 Hyundai Creta will come with a couple of front grille designs globally with the Indian model getting the one with horizontal slats. In fact, the alloy wheels will also be different from a grey finish on the India-spec model than the global model. Spy-shots have indicated the presence of a panoramic sunroof as well, perhaps in the range-topping variants.
The 2020 Creta SUV is expected to be longer, wider and higher than the ongoing version with a slight increase in wheelbase as well. The company has developed the new Creta by taking inspiration from its new flagship SUV, the Palisade.
As far as the features are concerned, 2020 Hyundai Creta will boast of a fully-digital instrument cluster, electric parking brake with auto-hold function, a 360-degree camera, a climate control system and a huge touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Navigation.
Mechanically, the SUV will be powered by a naturally aspirated 1.5L petrol engine, a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine, and a 1.5L turbocharged diesel engine. 2020 Hyundai Creta price is expected to start at Rs 10-11 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
