Hyundai has confirmed that it will announce the prices of the Tucson at the New Delhi Auto Expo in February. It was already common knowledge that the 2020 Tucson facelift would be on display along with other products from Hyundai, but this effectively converts it to launch as well.
The 2020 Hyundai Tucson will receive a midlife facelift with minor styling updates and some feature additions for the interior. The major update in the Indian context will be the BS Vl compliant engines, which will be the same 2-litre petrol and diesel engines with updates to meet the new emission norms. They will also get the same 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options as before. In addition, the top-spec diesel automatic variant will also have the option of all-wheel drive – the rest of the range will power the front wheels only.
The 2020 Hyundai Tucson interior will receive a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with Hyundai’s BlueLink connectivity that debuted on the Venue, parking cameras that will offer a 360 view around the car, and adaptive cruise control. All these features are expected to be offered on the top-spec variants only.
The Tucson Facelift will be priced significantly higher than the outgoing model due to the BS Vl update. It should be priced from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom. In the Indian market, it will compete with the likes of the Jeep Compass, the Honda CR-V, the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, and two upcoming SUVs in the 2020 Mahindra XUV500 and 2020 Hyundai Creta.
