The first look of the 2020 Kia Optima (K5) can make heads turn.
The car has the Premium Sedan looks from whichever angle you look at it.
The 2020 Kia Optima (K5) design is similar to that of the Hyundai Sonata.
The unveiling of the new Kia Optima (K5) shows that the vehicle has all the looks of a premium sedan. The dimensions of 4905mm X 1860mm X 1445mm (LxWxH) shows it to be a comfortable car through the height has reduced by around 20mm. The length has increased by 50mm and it is 25mm more extensive than the existing model. The wheelbase length of 2850mm completes its premium sedan appearance.
The released video of the Kia Optima (K5) reveals a Tiger Nose Evolution styling with the 3D design features blending beautifully into the front grille and headlights. Kia discloses that the grille design draws its inspiration from the skin of the shark. The headlamps include LED DRLs similar to that observed on the Cadenza or the K7.
The Kia Optima K5 exteriors come with a generous chrome lining that moves from the top portion of the windows right across the rear. The frameless windows and the LED lamps covering the width of the car makes for an attractive sight. Other stylish features include the rear wing on the boot lid along with a fastback styled roofline.
This premium sedan comes with three different wheel sizes, 16-inch, 17-inch, and 19-inch in its variants. The K5 gets its inspiration from the design of the Hyundai Sonata with its similar interiors like a flat-bottom steering wheel, layered dashboard, and the horizontally-styled touchscreen.
The 2020 Kia Optima could get a 1.6L turbo-petrol or 2.5L naturally-aspirated petrol motors capable of delivering 180ps and 191ps of power respectively. These engines mate with an 8-speed auto transmission unit. The K5 could make its debut in South Korea in December followed by an international launch sometime in 2020.
