The 2020 Mahindra Scorpio will launch in February.
It is a generation change, the third of the Scorpio.
It will have sweeping changes.
The third row will be front-facing.
Driveline will be all new as well.
The upcoming Mahindra Scorpio has been spotted testing once again. The 2020 Scorpio is the third generation of the SUV and will get a whole host of changes.
The styling of the Scorpio will get a major change, with a new grille, new headlamp and foglamp design, more aggressive air inlets, and new bonnet design. The silhouette has changed because the forward-facing third row requires a bump in the roof at the rear, which roof rails will no doubt disguise in the production version. The rear overhang has also changed thanks to the increased knee room requirement.
The features list promises to be extremely impressive as well: the top-spec versions are scheduled to receive touchscreen infotainment systems that will be large and with good resolution. They will be equipped with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and satellite navigation. They will also get a HUD, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, a new steering wheel with even more controls on it, and updated touch and feel surfaces that promise to make the Scorpio interior feel very premium.
Powering the new Scorpio will be a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that will generate more power and torque while complying with the new BS Vl emission norms. It will have a set of updated gearboxes, a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The 2020 Scorpio will cost more than the outgoing one, but it will also be a significant step forward, with its added features and safety. It will compete with the 2020 Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, and Tata Harrier, but it will still offer the most off-road and rough road capability in its class, which has always been its calling card.
