Mercedes-Benz has officially announced that bookings for the next-generation GLE have been opened. The price for the new GLE will be announced on February 2020, after which deliveries will begin.
The next-generation GLE is quite a bit larger than the outgoing one. The wheelbase has been increased by around 80mm, which means that much more knee room. The overall length has also gone up. Among the features available are a multifunction steering wheel and two 12-3 inch touchscreen infotainment screens.
We can expect the Indian GLE range to have a few engine options, beginning with the GLE 400d, which is a 3-liter six-cylinder diesel engine that generates 330 bhp and 700 Nm. For those that don’t need enough torque to uproot trees, there will be a Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d, with a 2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine generating 245 bhp and 500 Nm.
Those who want a petrol GLE will have the option of the 3-liter six-cylinder petrol with 367 bhp and 500 Nm. All the engines will be made available with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel drive.
Mercedes-Benz India had a strong sales showing on the occasion of Dhanteras, with over 600 vehicles delivered in a single day across dealerships in the Delhi-NCR region, Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat, Kolkata, and Punjab. 250 of the delivered vehicles were from the Delhi-NCR region alone.
