Ssangyong Corporation, now owned by India’s largest SUV manufacturer M&M, announced that the brand has sold a total of 11,610 units for the month of August 2013. Domestic sales are 5,158 cars and the export value is 6,452 units, hence the grand total of 11,610 units. The collective sales of the brand went up by 23.9% when compared to last year’s August month, which is a very big deal when mentioning with deference to the automobile industry. Now this achievement was possible because of the increased sales in the Korando model of the Ssangyong brand lineup. Despite the global economic breakdown and the summer vacation taken by the plant employees, the Korando managed to hold up a good number.
The domestic market is the place where the company recorded the uppermost development, when compared with other household automobile manufacturers in the primary portion of 2013. The brand sold over 5,000 cars every month for 5 months, which was possible because of the new Korando C that led to an increase of 39.2% year-by-year. The main attraction is the new Korando C which received a tremendous response from the consumers that led to nearly 4,000 cars to be booked in just 20 days. Just last month 1,799 units of the Korando C rolled out of the retail outlets making the recorded sales to be the highest ever of 2013, the car is now expected to have a very bright future.
The export rate also grew by 18.8% thanks to the huge demand in Russia for the car. The CEO of Ssangyong motors, Mr. Lee Yoo-il said that, the booking figures for the Korando models has continued to see growth, thanks to a positive response from the consumers. He concluded by said that, the brand will make every effort to avoid the interruption in supplying the cars to the tremendous demand of the market.
