The Czech automobile manufacturing giant Skoda, etched its name in the history books by yet another milestone of manufacturing its 4 millionth unit of the Octavia, at its chief production plant located in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic. The bicentennial car was the 3rd generation variant colored in Race-Blue. The Octavia went into production in the year 1996 and by some standards has been the best-selling car of the brand.
Professor Dr. H.C. Winfried Vahland, the Chairman of Skoda quoted that, the 4 million is an impressive figure that represents the success of the company and the car alike. Octavia has the been the ‘heart of Skoda’ since its production and has resolutely shaped the company’s development. Thanks to the Octavia the brand now has over 100 worldwide markets and has been recognized as one of the most successful international automobile manufacturer.
The brand without a doubt confirmed that Octavia’s good space, elegant design, modern technology, high functionality, precision, quality and value for money were the aspects that cemented the boulevard to get the job done. When looking back in time, the Octavia was the 1st fully new variant that patented the beginning of the joint venture between Volkswagen and Skoda in the year 1996. More than 38% of sales came fro the Octavia, which made the car an undeniable best-seller in the 118 year old history of the company.
Apart from the chief plant in Mlada Boleslav, the Octavia is manufactured in Nizhny (Russia), Ust-Kamenogorsk (Kazakhstan), Aurangabad (India) and Solomonovo (Ukraine). Currently Skoda has supplemented 3 new members into the legendary Octavia family, the Combi, the vRS and the Combi vRS. The vRS is the fastest car in the whole brand, it can hit a top speed of 248 Kmph. The company has predicted that the Octavia will play the most important role in the sales part, as the brand is anticipated to selling somewhere around 1.5 million automobiles within the year 2018.
