Unlike other car manufacturers in India who had a dismal growth in sales in the second quarter of 2013, the Japanese car manufacturing giant ‘Honda’ has a shown a phenomenal growth of 45 % for the same quarter. The sales of their vehicle rose to ‘9,297’ for the month of June alone, while the sale of their vehicles in the month of June last year was ‘2,667’ units. The overall sale for April to June 2013 was a staggering figure of ’29,127’ while the company was able to sell only ’20,076’units last year in the same quarter. The sales growth is 45 % Percent, which is a remarkable performance by the company.
A company executive attributes this phenomenal growth to their strong product line and the acceptance by the general public to their new model ‘Amaze’. He said that they have already sold ’18,000’ units of Amaze, and looking at the enthusiasm of car enthusiasts, are likely to sell more models in the year. The break up figures for the Honda cars sold in April to June quarter are as follows:
- ‘Honda Brio’ which is a hatch back - 2,375 pieces
- ‘Amaze compact sedan’ - 4,965 pieces

This remarkable growth in sales by Honda has put it far ahead of it rivals, Hyundai Motors India and Maruti. The company hopes to keep up the momentum and improve its sales further in the coming months. Their strategy of strong customer services and aggressive marketing appears to be very successful as Honda customers are very faithful to their brand. As the management points out that so far their ability to catering to the customer satisfaction and a strong dealer network throughout the country has helped them to increase the sales growth this year.
