Tata Car Manufacturing division was very successful in selling its product in the month of May this year. They managed to sell nearly fortynine thousand three hundred and four pieces in this year, including substantial cars in this month alone. This is a good news for the Indian car manufacturing giant which was not doing very well in the recent years. However, there is a decline of sales of nearly ’23.37’ Percent when compared to May 2012 when the company sold nearly ‘64,347’ cars. The sales figure contains both vehicle for commercial use as well as passenger cars. The company sold more pieces in the Indian car market, the sales figure is forty five thousand four hundred and thirty. This figures includes both exports and internal sales.
- Domestic market sales were – ‘ 45,430’ pieces,
- Sales for the passenge cars were good. This includes the brands like ‘Nano, Indica, Indiga as well as Sumo, Safari, Aria, Venture.
The reason for slow sales are the markets are very sluggish and people tend to hoard their extra cash instead of spending them on capital goods. However, the total figures of both passenger cars and Light Commercial Vehicles and Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles are improving. The cumulative figures for the whole year are ‘70,321’ out of which ‘ LCV’ are ‘ 50,196’ and ‘M&HCV’ are ‘20,125 ‘. Sale of passenger cars is also not bad, the total figures for the year so far are ‘22,704’ cars. This contains almost all models of Tata cars. It is hoped that if the economy improves the sales of cars are also likely to improve.
