4th Generation Honda City crosses 2.5 lakh sales mark

We all know that the Honda City has been one of the best selling sedan in its segment and now the fourth generation of the Honda City sedan has achieved another milestone, crossing a sales mark over 2.5lakh units in 42 months. India is the largest market for the Honda City and alone accounts for over 25% of City’s worldwide sales. Globally, the Honda City has registered cumulative sales of over 3.5 million units in more than 60 countries, out of which over 1 Million units are attributed to the 4th Generation City.

Speaking about the milestone achieved by Honda City in India, Mr. Yoichiro Ueno, President & CEO, Honda Cars India, said, “The Honda City is an important pillar of Honda’s business and success in India. In terms of features, Honda City comes equipped with advanced 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system called the Digipad, keyless entry, electric sunroof, steering mounted audio and bluetooth handsfree,  reverse camera & parking sensors, cruise control, automatic air-conditioner, leather seats, 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels. For the safety, it gets airbags, ABS (Anti-lock braking system) with EBD.

Under the hood, the Honda City comes with 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine mated to Honda’s advanced CVT with 7-speed paddle shifters, delivering a good fuel efficiency of 18kmpl, whereas the 5-speed manual transmission delivers an impressive mileage of 17.4 kmpl. The Diesel unit is a 1.5-litre City mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, powered by the 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine of Earth Dream Technology that delivers an impressive fuel economy of 25.6 kmpl. The petrol unit cranks out a max power of 117 bhp with a peak torque of 150 Nm, while the diesel unit produces 99 bhp with 200 Nm od top torque.
